Sogulu Crystal Damiglaw is an author, social impact leader, systems advocate, and the Founder of YEPP Group LLC and the Youth Empowerment & Pathway Project, Inc. (YEPP). Her work is deeply informed by both lived experience and years of professional service across human services, behavioral health, housing stabilization, workforce development, and community-based care.

Throughout her career, Crystal has worked directly with individuals and families facing complex challenges, including mental health conditions, housing instability, poverty, trauma, and barriers to economic self-sufficiency. In these roles, she witnessed firsthand the significant gaps that often exist within service delivery systems—gaps that can leave vulnerable populations without the coordinated support, continuity of care, and long-term accountability needed to achieve lasting stability and success.

As an immigrant professional, Crystal also experienced systemic barriers within the workplace, including inequitable treatment, limited access to opportunities, and organizational practices that did not always reflect the principles of fairness, inclusion, and professional equity. These experiences provided her with a unique perspective on the challenges faced by both service recipients and the professionals dedicated to supporting them. Rather than allowing these obstacles to define her path, she transformed them into a catalyst for leadership, innovation, and advocacy.

These experiences sharpened Crystal's vision and strengthened her commitment to creating systems that are more equitable, responsive, and effective. She identified a recurring pattern: individuals facing mental health challenges, housing instability, and employment barriers were often navigating fragmented systems with limited coordination and insufficient pathways toward long-term success. She recognized the need for an approach that combines compassion and trauma-informed care with structure, accountability, measurable outcomes, and sustainable impact.

From that vision, YEPP was born.

Through YEPP Group LLC and the Youth Empowerment & Pathway Project, Inc., Crystal has developed a model that bridges direct service delivery with systems-level strategy—integrating behavioral health support, housing stabilization, workforce development, case management, and organizational consulting to create meaningful pathways toward self-sufficiency and long-term stability.

As an author, advocate, and thought leader, Crystal's work extends beyond direct programming into advancing conversations around equity, systems reform, workforce development, and the creation of more effective, human-centered models of care. She is passionate about transforming lived experience into practical solutions that strengthen communities and improve outcomes for underserved populations.

Today, Crystal leads with a clear mission: to transform challenges into opportunities for systemic change. Her leadership is grounded in resilience, innovation, strategic vision, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring that individuals and communities are not merely supported—but empowered to thrive.
